FC United Tournament
northerncare and FC United hosted a football tournament for children in care at the Soccer Dome in Manchester. It was a tough competition with excellent skills shown by all the participants. northerncare had numerous teams enter the competition which was eventually won by a team from a Salford children’s home. All the young people attended a reception afterwards where a FC United player presented each young person with a medal and a certificate.
Following lunch all the young people went to watch the match of FC United V’s Silsden. It was a very exciting match and the winning teams were presented with a cup on the pitch at half time. All the young people enjoyed the day thoroughly and many are now regulars at the home matches.
FC United gave northerncare a signed football as a competition prize for the best match report or art work from the event. Below are the winning entries:
