Northern Care Expands and Adapts to Meet Local Authority Needs

Northern Care announced the establishment of its 44th home this week with the The Acres opening its doors on 3rd February. The Acres is is set to meet the needs of Northern Care's Local Authority partners within the Greater Manchester region and will provide care for up to six young men with emotional, social and/or behavioural difficulties.

Meanwhile, Northern Care continues to provide flexible needs led services to its Local Authority partners around the country. After monitoring need within the region, the Firs in East Sussex, which has provided positive outcomes for young women, is set to amend its Statement of Purpose to provide care for young men. In line with this change, the home will change its name to Baird House, named after John Logie Baird, who invented the television whilst living in East Sussex.

As a forward thinking company we work closely with Local Authority Commissioning teams to ensure that our services are meeting the needs of their young people. Where such needs change we can adapt our services to help provide the most suitable care to the looked after population within that area.

Northern Care welcomes enquiries from placements and commissioning teams regarding our plans for new and current homes/ services and would be happy to discuss establishing provision within your area.

Northern Care offers services to children and young people aged 5 to 18 on admission with a variety of needs.
