Blandford House opened its doors this month following a number of successful open days and visits that have showcased this innovative service. NCERCC (National Centre of Excellence for Residential Care) described it as “amazing” and visitors from London Borough Councils were thrilled at the standard of accommodation. Blandford House is the first environmentally friendly residential care service in the country. Situated in Uxbridge, West London, it will provide care and education for young people aged 11-17 with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. The home is split into two 4-bedded sections (one of which is high support) and 2 semi-supported apartments, with on-site education. Blandford House was part of a regeneration project supported by Hillingdon Council, and represents the first northerncare service to be established in London.
