northerncare’s football tournament in partnership with FC United attracts biggest crowd yet
Our 4th football tournament for 10-17 year olds was held on Saturday 8th November 2008 at Powerleague, Trafford Park. We had over 100 young people take part including those from our own homes across the country and children from 4 Local Authorities – Salford, Bury, Oldham and Cheshire.

Following northerncare’s sponsorship of the Fylde-based soccer school run by Bolton Wanderers player, Gavin McCann, ex-Sheffield Wednesday and Blackpool FC player, John Hills and ex-Blackpool and Everton FC player, Jamie Milligan, young people from our children’s homes have been given the opportunity to receive expert coaching from the three football stars.
