Last year the Upper Thames Rowing Club held a rowing event in Henley upon Thames that staff and young people from northerncare attended.

The young people had so much fun that the Club has invited us to go again in August this year and northerncare are delighted to be able to support this great event once more.

All the children, young people and staff from our 31 homes have been offered the opportunity to take part and, on 18th and 19th August 2009, over 30 young people and over 20 staff will be heading to Henley to enjoy the event.

The 2 days include full coaching, with on the water sessions and all the equipment. The coaching is to a professional standard with the event designed to provide full training. The Club is experienced with beginners and has all the required CRB and health and safety procedures in place.

We know that all those who get involved will have lots of fun and enjoy the experience of rowing on such a historic course; let’s hope for the great weather we had last year!
